Our friends over at Business360 completed some interesting but dispiriting analysis on plastic use by consumer goods companies. They found that companies that made global commitments on plastic consumption now use more plastic than they did five years ago. Worse, companies on average now use more plastic to generate each unit of real dollar sales than five years ago.
Isn’t that shocking?
They define plastic intensity as the number of grammes of plastic used to generate each revenue of sales in real dollar terms, and found companies now use 8.4% more plastic to generate each unit of revenue than they did in 2018.
You can see details at their press release and website.
